---INFORMATION FROM RISPA’S NCSP COMMITTEE---

RISPA is now a NASP-Approved Provider of Professional Development

We received our approval letter from NASP in November 2008.  This means that most RISPA conferences and workshops will be “NASP-approved” and therefore count as part of the 25 NASP-approved credits required for NCSP renewal. Many thanks to Pauline Tardif who made this possible by inquiring about the application process, gathering all necessary materials, and completing the lengthy application.

Attention to those who hold the NCSP:

Changes to the NCSP Renewal Process

If you are renewing your NCSP in January 2009 or beyond, you must show evidence of 3 hours of professional development in ethics or professional practices.

If you are renewing your NCSP in January 2010 or beyond, you must also show evidence that one-third (25) of your continuing professional development credits are through a NASP- or APA-Approved Provider.

See the NASP website for further information:

http://www.nasponline.org/certification/renewing_NCSP.aspx

One way to earn NASP-Approved credits is to attend any of RISPA’s upcoming workshops/conferences.  Information about our professional development opportunities is mailed to all RISPA members approximately two to three months before the event.  Information will also be posted on our website www.rispa.org.

If you’d like more information or are interested in helping out on the NCSP committee, please feel free to contact NCSP Committee members Andrea (Cirillo) Spas at andreajc9@aol.com or Kim Pristawa at kpristawa@cox.net.
